    Improving Consultation Notes for Endocrinology

    This webinar is focused on enhancing the quality of consultation notes in endocrinology. As healthcare transitions from traditional documentation to electronic medical records, issues such as note bloat and its impact on primary care providers have become increasingly challenging. This webinar will explore strategies for creating clear, efficient, and collaborative consultation notes, with attention to improving access and streamlining transitions.  It will also revisit insights from previous projects on essential note elements and discuss considerations for pediatric endocrinology.

    • Improve the efficiency, clarity, relevance, and structure of endocrinology consultation notes to ensure they effectively support primary care providers and other stakeholders. (CanMEDS: Communicator)
    • Enhance interprofessional collaboration by applying strategies that promote communication and continuity across the circle of care, including patients, primary care providers, and specialists. (CanMEDS: Collaborator)
    • Optimize consultation notes, including identifying essential elements, supporting workflow efficiencies, ensuring responsible use of digital documentation tools and artificial intelligence (AI) to promote creation of high-quality consultation notes. (CanMEDS: Leader)

    CSEM Endocrinology and Metabolism Resident Review Course

    June 20 2026 | 10:00 - 18:15 ET | Online 

    The CSEM Resident Review Course will deliver a high-level endocrinology and metabolism review course for PGY-5 residents preparing to write the licensing exam.  Speakers will deliver live presentations covering major systems, followed by a question-and-answer period with interactivity to demonstrate learning.

    Learning Objectives
    By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Demonstrate enhanced knowledge of core endocrinology and metabolism topics relevant to the licensing exam.
    • Apply clinical reasoning and evidence-based approaches to high-yield scenarios through interactive case discussions, polling questions, and expert-led presentations.
    • Identify and address personal knowledge gaps in preparation for the RCPSC exam, using insights from pre- and post-session assessments and faculty feedback.
